Commission Rules
How commission is calculated.
Overview
A commission rule says who it applies to, what it is earned on, the rate and when it takes effect. Statements use the rules in force for each period.
When to use commission rules
- You change your commission plan.
Step by step
In the Sales module open Configuration in the green navigation bar, then choose Commission Rules under Sales Settings.

What you see on the screen
- Columns: RULE, APPLIES TO, EARNED ON, RATE, EFFECTIVE, STATUS.
- Actions on the screen: New Rule.
Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- sales.commission.create
- sales.commission.delete
- sales.commission.read
- sales.commission.update
