Data Explorer
Ask questions of your data and drill to the documents.
Overview
Choose a data set, a measure and dimensions, add filters and compare periods. Dimensions can drill down, for example year to quarter to month to day, or aging bucket to customer. View source records opens the documents behind any number, and results export to CSV.
When to use data explorer
- You investigate a trend.
Step by step
In the Analytics module open Analytics in the green navigation bar, then choose Data Explorer under Workspace.

What you see on the screen
- Columns: Invoice date, Net revenue.
- Actions on the screen: Analyse, Blend two data sets, Year → Quarter → Month → Day, Aging bucket → Customer, Add filter, Save, View source records, CSV, Excel, Invoice date, Net revenue.
Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- analytics.report.create
- analytics.report.export
- analytics.report.read
