Approval Rules
Who must approve a purchase, by amount.
Overview
An approval rule has a name, a minimum and maximum amount, an approver role, a level and an active flag. Requests and orders in that range are routed to that approver.
When to use approval rules
- You set spending authority.
Step by step
In the Purchase module open Configuration in the green navigation bar, then choose Approval Rules under Setup.

What you see on the screen
- Columns: Name, Min Amount, Max Amount, Approver Role, Level.
- Actions on the screen: New Rule.
Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- purchase.approval-rules.create
- purchase.approval-rules.read
- purchase.approval-rules.update
