Quotations
Offer a customer a price, get it approved and convert it into an order.
Overview
A quotation lists what you offer, at what price and on what terms. A customer can accept it, you can revise it, and an accepted quotation becomes a sales order.
Discounts above the threshold set in Discount Approval go to a manager before the quotation can be sent.
When to use quotations
- A prospect asks for a price.
- You want a controlled, trackable offer with approval on large discounts.
- You want accepted offers to flow straight into orders and invoices.

Revisions are versioned so you can compare what changed. An accepted quotation can be converted into a sales order.
Accounting impact
- A quotation has no accounting effect. Posting happens when the resulting order is delivered and invoiced.
