Stock Adjustments
Correct stock on hand after a count or a loss.
Overview
A stock adjustment changes quantities to match reality, for example breakage, theft or a counting difference. Adjustments need an approver and always leave a record of who changed what and why.
When to use stock adjustments
- You find a difference outside a formal stock take.
- You write off damaged stock.
Step by step
In the Inventory module open Operations in the green navigation bar, then choose Stock Adjustments under Transactions.

Accounting impact
- Increases or decreases stock. A shortage posts to the Shrinkage account and a surplus to the Gain account, using the accounts mapped in Accounting Settings.
