Trial Balance
Debit and credit totals for every account, proving the books balance.
Overview
The Trial Balance lists each account’s debit, credit and closing balance from posted entries. Total debits equal total credits; use it as the starting point for the statements and to find accounts needing review.
When to use trial balance
- Period close.
- Before running the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss.
Step by step
In the Accounting module open Reporting in the green navigation bar, then choose Trial Balance under Audit Reports.
