Budgets
Plan amounts for accounts and compare them with actual results.
Overview
Budgets hold the amounts you plan to spend or earn per account and period. Actuals come from the posted ledger, so the comparison needs no re-keying.
Budget controls in Accounting Settings decide whether overspend is only reported or also blocked.
When to use budgets
- You set annual or quarterly targets.
- You review variance each month.
Step by step
In the Accounting module open Accounting in the green navigation bar, then choose Budgets under Management.
