Number Sequences
The numbering format of stock documents.
Overview
Each document type has a prefix, padding, reset period and next number. Set them before the first document is created, or change the format later.
When to use number sequences
- You want numbers like GRN-2026-00001.
Step by step
In the Inventory module open Config in the green navigation bar, then choose Number Sequences under Settings & Locations.

What you see on the screen
- Columns: ENTITY TYPE, PREFIX, PADDING, RESET PERIOD, NEXT NUMBER, ACTIONS.
- Actions on the screen: Skip — I’ll set it up manually, Start.
Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- numbering.sequence.create
- numbering.sequence.read
- numbering.sequence.update
