Documents
Attach versioned files to assets, locations and classes, with expiry dates.
Overview
Documents are versioned by group: uploading a new version keeps the earlier ones. A document can be attached to an asset, a functional location or a whole class. Types are whitelisted and checked by content, files are limited to 100 MB and downloads need a login; they are never served statically.
When to use documents
- You keep manuals, drawings, certificates or photos with the equipment.
- You want a reminder before a certificate expires.

Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- assets.document.manage
- assets.asset.read
Automation
- Changes on this screen are written to the asset audit trail and the asset timeline.
