Movements & Scans

Record scans and GPS fixes that locate assets without a formal transfer.

Overview

Scan an asset’s QR code, number, barcode, RFID tag, NFC tag or serial to find it and log a movement, optionally with a GPS fix and a new location.

When to use movements & scans

• A technician or storekeeper confirms where an item is.

Step by step

1. 1Open Movements & ScansIn Assets, open Lifecycle → Move → Movements & Scans.
2. 2Scan or enter an identifier
3. 3Save the movement

Permissions

These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):

• assets.movement.record

Automation

• Changes on this screen are written to the asset audit trail and the asset timeline.
