Taxes
The tax rates applied on invoices, bills and orders.
Overview
Each tax has a name, country, type, rate, whether it is compound or inclusive, and the account it posts to. Install the country’s standard taxes in one click or add your own. Document lines pick from this list, so the tax engine is the same everywhere.
When to use taxes
- You register for a new tax.
- A rate changes.
Step by step
In the Accounting module open Configuration in the green navigation bar, then choose Taxes under Accounting.

What you see on the screen
- Columns: NAME, COUNTRY, TYPE, RATE, COMPOUND, INCLUSIVE, TAX ACCOUNT, ACTIONS.
- Actions on the screen: Install Country Taxes, New Tax.
Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- accounting.tax.create
- accounting.tax.read
- accounting.tax.update
