Payment Modes
The ways money is received and paid, and where each posts.
Overview
A payment mode has a name, type, provider and the account it posts to. Every receipt and payment must carry one, so the ledger shows how money moved.
When to use payment modes
- You start accepting mobile money or a card.
Step by step
In the Accounting module open Configuration in the green navigation bar, then choose Payment Modes under Accounting.

What you see on the screen
- Columns: NAME, TYPE, PROVIDER, POSTS TO, REFERENCE, STATUS, ACTIONS.
- Actions on the screen: New Payment Mode.

These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
- accounting.payment.create
