Roles & Field Security
Who can see and change which asset fields.
Overview
Install or refresh the asset roles, then grant them. Field security hides sensitive fields such as cost from people who should not see them.
When to use roles & field security
- Finance values must stay private.
Step by step
In the Assets module open Configuration in the green navigation bar, then choose Roles & Field Security under Security.

What you see on the screen
- Actions on the screen: Install / refresh roles, Grant, Save.
Permissions
These permission keys control access (granted to roles in Administration → Roles & Permissions):
