Numbering

Set the pattern that generates asset numbers, such as KE-NRB-PMP-001.

Overview

Asset numbers are generated from a template per class, for example {COUNTRY}-{SITE}-{CLASS}-{SEQ:3}. The sequence part is allocated atomically, so two people saving at once never get the same number. A template whose tokens are all empty yields AST-001 rather than a bare 001.

When to use numbering

• You want asset numbers to carry the country, site and class.
• You need a different numbering scheme per class.

Prerequisites

• Standard setup loaded (Configuration → Org Structure → Load standard setup)

Step by step

1. 1Open NumberingIn Assets, open Configuration → Master Data → Numbering.
